Hersheypark has announced it will close on Tuesday because of “heavy rain expected” from Tropical Storm Isaias.

According to a note on the park’s website, the park will reopen on Wednesday.

Current forecasts have flash flood watches in the entire region of central Pennsylvania, with the storm expected to hit portions of the eastern part of the state.

The park has been operating under guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help slow the spread of covid-19.

The last time Hersheypark closed because of weather was in 2018, when historic flooding hit the area and the park, forcing closure for a few days.
