Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has joined the Guinness World Record books after revealing an oversized, bobblehead replica of Ollie, their beloved and long-time mascot.

The company hosted the event at their Harrisburg store on 6295 Allentown Blvd. in celebration of its 40th birthday.

The official measurements for the bobblehead stands at 16 feet, 6.73 inches, breaking the former record. The finished bobblehead weighs over 600 pounds, with more than 10.5 gallons of paint being used to beautify a perfect replica.

According to John Swygert, President and CEO of Ollie’s, the idea for the project came about eight months ago and construction took place within the last four months.

“This was an important thing for us to do, celebrating our 40th anniversary,” Swygert said. “It’s obviously a big deal for Ollie’s and we wanted to do something really big and fun for our customers and associates.”

The previous Guinness World Record stood at over 15 feet and was set in 2016 by Applied Underwriters in Florida, which displayed their mascot, a St. Bernard.

The new oversized bobblehead will remain at Ollie’s flagship store in Harrisburg.
