Pa. Commonwealth Court to hold 1st video stream hearing Tuesday
In an effort to carry on with court proceedings during the covid-19 crisis, Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court announced Monday it will hold its first video stream hearing.
The hearing will take place 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday with Judge Kevin Brobson presiding over the case of MFW Wine Co., A6 Wine Company and Bloomsday Café vs. the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
The case was filed by the wine vendors against the PLCB to allow for special liquor orders to be delivered by licensed importers/vendors directly to their customers, rather than to a state-owned liquor store for pick-up. It will be heard via video conference between parties to the case and livestreamed on YouTube.
“This is an unprecedented time in our history, but the work of the court continues, making it imperative that we find ways to adapt to the new normal,” said Commonwealth Court President Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt.
“Using online video platforms allows us to maintain the highest level of health and safety while addressing the critical issues presented to the Court for consideration within a public forum.”
