A central Pennsylvania man has been arrested on accusations he sexually abused several teenage students at the martial arts studio where he worked.

Devin Hogue, 23, of the 500 block of Ridge Road, New Cumberland, had several inappropriate interactions with four teenage girls that, in some instances, escalated to sexual assault and indecent contact, according to New Cumberland Borough Police.

Hogue, a karate instructor at Elite Martial Arts in New Cumberland, friended on Snapchat several of the girls he taught, officer Michael Bowen wrote in court documents.

Hogue also led two girls to the kitchen of the Elite building to fondle them, Bowen said. One of them said Hogue told her about his contacts with other students, according to Bowen.

Hogue asked another girl if they could have sex, and she turned him down. So instead, Hogue threatened to have her thrown out of karate class if she did not send him nude photos, according to police.

Another girl told police she did not want to kiss Hogue, but knew his family had money, so she kissed him, according to Bowen. She said Hogue sent her sexually explicit messages and told her to sit in the back of the class so they could sneak away to have “alone time,” according to police.

Hogue asked the students to send him nude photos, and told them to delete their text messages and Snapchats, according to Bowen. Bowen said that Hogue would lead the girls off to fondle them where he knew there are no cameras, according to police.

District Judge Paul Fegley arraigned Hogue on charges of sexual abuse of children, sexual assault by employee of a nonprofit association, unlawful contact with minors, corruption of minors, indecent assault and indecent exposure, and set bail to $75,000.

Hogue will remain in Cumberland County Prison until he posts bail or appears before District Judge Christopher Delozier for his preliminary hearing June 8.
