Pennsylvania reports 1,120 new covid-19 cases, 24 deaths

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 1,120 new coronavirus cases and 24 new deaths Tuesday.

The number of new reported state covid-19 cases was the second highest this month, with the highest coming July 24 with 1,213 cases.

Total coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania now sit at 109,384. The state surpassed 100,000 cases on July 18, after starting the month with 87,242 cases.

There has now been 1,059,776 negative tests in Pennsylvania, according to the state.

Allegheny County reported an increase of 119 covid-19 cases Tuesday, while Philadelphia and Delaware counties reported 175 and 118 cases, respectively.

The state health department estimates 75% of those who have contracted coronavirus have recovered.

In the past eight days, the state has added more than 20 new covid-19 deaths four times. The Pennsylvania coronavirus death total stands at 7,146.
