Pennsylvania reports 1,380 new coronavirus cases, 9 new deaths

Pennsylvania on Friday reported 1,380 new cases of covid-19, with 135 of those in Philadelphia.

There were 211,544 tests administered in the past 7 days, with 7,805 positive cases, according to the state Health Department.

The state reported 14,662 new negative test results for a total of 1,999,765 people testing negative to date.

The state has reported a total of 169,308 cases since March, with 163,321 of those confirmed and 5,987 probable.

There were nine new deaths attributed to the coronavirus across the state. Total deaths are now 8,308.

The state has 734 patients currently hospitalized for covid-19, with 92 of them using ventilators.

There are 23,717 resident cases of covid-19 in nursing and personal care homes, and 5,252 cases among their employees, for a total of 28,969 at 1,002 facilities. Of the state’s total deaths, 5,548 have been residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Patient who tested ositive for the coronavirus break down into the age groups:

Approximately 1% are ages 0-4.

Nearly 2% are ages 5-12.

Nearly 5% are ages 13-18.

Nearly 14% are ages 19-24.

Nearly 36% are ages 25-49.

Approximately 21% are ages 50-64.

Approximately 21% are age 65 or older.
