Pennsylvania on Sunday reported 12 more covid-19 deaths and 506 additional cases, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 75,592, according to state health officials.

A total of 5,943 people have died from the virus. More than 444,000 people have tested negative. Of the total cases, 71% have recovered.

Nursing and personal care homes account for 25% of covid-19 cases and almost 69% of the reported deaths.

According to state health officials, 18,935 covid-19 cases have been reported at nursing and personal care homes at 615 facilities in 45 counties. There are 16,131 resident cases and 2,804 employee cases. Close to 4,100 residents have died from the virus.

Approximately 5,729 of the total cases are in health care workers.

As of Sunday, all 67 counties were in the yellow or green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s phased reopening plan.

“As Pennsylvania continues to move forward in the process to reopen, we need to remember that the threat from covid-19 has not gone away,” Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said in a Sunday statement. “As counties move into the yellow and green phases, we must take personal responsibility to protect others. Wearing a mask, continuing to maintain social distancing, and washing your hands frequently are all steps we can take to help protect others, including our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians, our essential workers and our health care system.”
