Pennsylvania on Sunday reported 660 new coronavirus cases and three additional deaths.
The new data brings the total cases to 124,460. Officials said of those, 3,474 are considered probable cases.
The seven-day average of cases is 801.
The total number of covid-19 deaths in Pennsylvania now stands at 7,468. The most recent reported deaths included two from this month and one from July.
The state and Allegheny County are reporting a different number of deaths. On Sunday the county reported four additional deaths to bring the county’s total to 288. The state is reporting 270 deaths in Allegheny County. The two departments have different death figures because they pull information from different sources.
More than 1.45 million people in the state have been tested for the virus.
The state’s covid-19 dashboard shows that 559 people are currently hospitalized with 99 patients on ventilators. The state said that most of the hospitalized patients are ages 65 or older.
Nursing and personal care homes have been struck hard by the coronavirus.
The state health department said there are 20,375 resident cases of covid-19, and 4,226 cases among employees, for a total of 24,601 at 892 distinct facilities in 63 counties.
The state reported 5,057 deaths — one more than Saturday — have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
Officials continue to urge people to use caution by maintaining social distance and wearing masks.
