The Pennsylvania Department of Health added 816 new positive cases of covid-19 on Wednesday, bringing the state total to 135,611.

Nineteen deaths were added, with those ranging from Aug. 13-31. There are now 7,712 deaths in the state attributed to the coronavirus.

Allegheny County saw the most new cases in Western Pennsylvania, with 68 cases bringing the county’s total to 10,444. Here’s how the rest of the area fared, with total cases and the growth from Tuesday:

Armstrong — 324 (+4) Beaver — 1,630 (+12) Butler — 801 (+12) Fayette — 699 (+5) Indiana — 440 (+10) Somerset — 172 (+5) Washington — 1,086 (+20) Westmoreland — 1,837 (+18)

There have been 21,149 resident cases of covid-19 in nursing and personal care homes and 4,534 among employees for a total of 25,683 at 934 facilities throughout the state. Out of the state’s 7,712 deaths, 5,213 have occurred in residents of nursing or personal care facilities.

Almost 93% of the state’s deaths have occurred in people 60 or older.

According to the state’s covid-19 dashboard, there are currently 550 covid-19 patients hospitalized in Pennsylvania, with 67 using ventilators.

On Tuesday, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a second renewal of his 90-day disaster declaration for the covid-19 pandemic. The new declaration will last through late November.

“As we approach the six-month mark of this crisis, I continue to be amazed at the resiliency and strength shown by Pennsylvanians during this pandemic,” Wolf said. “We are going to continue to combat the health and economic effects of covid-19, and the renewal of my disaster declaration will provide us with resources and support needed for this effort.”
