Pennsylvania had 933 new covid-19 cases Thursday, according to the state Department of Health.
Ten new coronavirus-related deaths were reported, all of which are from September.
After Thursday’s new cases and deaths, total cases are at 147,923 and total deaths are now 7,913.
In Southwestern Pennsylvania, Allegheny County had the most new cases among the region Thursday with 79, according to the Allegheny County Health Department. That number differs from the state’s number for Allegheny County, which Department of Health reporting 83 new cases for the county. No reason was given for the discrepancy.
The rest of the counties in the region saw an increase in cases Thursday. See total cases and case increase below:

Centre County continues to see a rapid increase of cases, as 92 new cases were reported Thursday. On Aug.17, the county that is home to State College and Penn State had 393 cases. After Thursday’s numbers, Centre County now has 1,600 cases a month later. Penn State’s main campus started class Aug. 24.
In the state, there are currently 459 covid-19 patients hospitalized, 54 of which are on ventilators.
As of Thursday, the state Department of Health estimates 82% of covid-19 cases in Pennsylvania have recovered.
