More Pappy Van Winkle whiskey will be available via lottery from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board, through its limited-release lottery, is awarding those who register the opportunity to buy 1,896 bottles of rare whiskeys.

The LCB on Monday announced that state residents and licensees have until 5 p.m. Friday to opt in to the lotteries or drawings for whiskeys from the Pappy Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace Antique Collections. People can do so by visiting the Limited-Release Lottery web page at FWGS.com.

Two separate lotteries will be held for each of the limited-release whiskeys.

The first lottery features 513 bottles from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collections. There are five whiskeys, all aged at least 15 years and costing $124.99. Winners are limited to one bottle per participant. If someone wins a bottle in a drawing within this lottery, they will be removed from subsequent drawings in this lottery, according to the LCB.

Whiskeys in the first lottery include:

  • Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 18 Year Old: 16 bottles available for residents and five for licensees.
  • Eagle Rare Straight Bourbon 17 Year Old: 16 bottles available for residents and five for licensees.
  • William Larue Weller Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof: 57 bottles available for residents and 18 for licensees.
  • George T. Stagg Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof: 133 bottles available for residents and 44 for licensees.
  • Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel Proof: 165 bottles available for residents and 54 for licensees.

The second lottery includes 1,383 bottles of Kentucky whiskeys produced by Pappy Van Winkle’s grandson using recipes dating back four generations. This lottery features six whiskeys:

  • Van Winkle Special Reserve Straight Bourbon 12 Year Old 90 Proof: Costs $99.99 each, 599 bottles available for residents and 199 for licensees.

Winning entries are limited to one bottle per participant, according to the LCB. If a participant wins a bottle in a drawing within this lottery, they will be removed from subsequent drawings.
