A Scranton woman faces charges after police investigated reports about her having sex with a 14-year-old boy.
After initially denying the accusations, Leanora Propes, 39, 529 S. Third Ave., admitted to police she had intercourse with the victim, investigators wrote in charging papers.
Her boyfriend, Glenn James Marr, 34, is also facing charges after police said he initially reported the Propes’ ties with teen, then said he had made it up to “get revenge” on Propes.
The victim’s mother called detectives Feb. 15 to report the incident. The victim, who also initially denied the accusation, eventually told police he had four sexual encounters with Propes while Marr was incarcerated in the summer.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of sexual assault.
Propes first told police the victim’s mother fabricated the incident over an issue with stolen money from her mother. After admitting to the intercourse during an interview with police March 10, she blamed it on depression and loneliness since Marr was in prison at the time, police said.
Propes is charged with statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, among other charges.
Marr, 129 Susquehanna St., Binghamton, New York, is charged with obstruction.
Both are free on unsecured bail and are scheduled for preliminary hearings Wednesday.
