Injuries from a fall are seen on the face of Sen. John Fetterman, D-Braddock, as he walks through a hallway on Capitol Hill.

Sen. John Fetterman remains more popular with Pennsylvania Republicans than fellow Democrats, according to a new poll.

In the survey commissioned by RealClearPennsylvania and Emerson College, Fetterman has a 31% job approval rating from Democrats compared to 57% from Republicans and 30% from independents.

The poll questioned 2,000 Pennsylvanians and has a margin of error of +/- 2 percentage points.

This comes on the heels of a report that Fetterman’s fundraising has precipitously dropped, amid weakening support from Democrats.

A poll earlier this year had 45% of state Republicans approving of Fetterman while just 40% of Democrats did.

Fetterman has angered many Democrats with his willingness to work with the Trump administration, his frequent appearances on Fox News, his penchant to castigate Democrats for calling Republicans fascists and other names, and his staunch support for Israel and its military offensive into Gaza, as well as President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.

He was also one of eight Democratic senators to vote to end the federal government shutdown with no assurances about the future of subsidies for Obamacare, a point of contention for many Democrats.

In his recent memoir, Fetterman said he realizes his political stances could cost him his Senate seat in 2028, but he is “at peace with that.”

Overall, Fetterman’a approval rating is just 39% while 31% disapprove and 28% were either neutral or did not know of him.

Gov. Josh Shapiro has a 49% job approval rating, lower than other polls have shown, with 22% disapproving and 30% neutral or did not know of him.

However, Shapiro, who is up for re-election in 2026, has strong support among Democrats with a 76% approval rating compared to 29% with Republicans and 37% among independents.

Republican Sen. Dave McCormick has a job approval rating of 34%, with 28% disapproving and 37% staying neutral or never hearing of him. Fifty-eight percent of Pennsylvania Republicans approve of McCormick. while just 19% of Democrats and 23% of independents did.
