State police seized more than 68 pounds of cocaine worth about $1.5 million in the first three months of 2020, according to figures released by the law enforcement agency.
That amount is part of more than $11 million in illicit drugs troopers confiscated statewide between Jan. 1 and March 31. In that time, troopers seized more than 6 pounds of heroin valued at $220,660 and nearly 18 pounds of fentanyl valued at $283,040.
Also included in the three-month total is more than $7.8 million worth of processed marijuana, about 2,600 pounds, in addition to other forms of marijuana, such as wax and plants.
Last year, troopers across Pennsylvania seized more than $43 million in illicit drugs. That figure included nearly 300 pounds of heroin and fentanyl, both of which have caused tens of thousands of drug overdose deaths.
