State troopers seized more than $66 million worth of illegal drugs from communities around Pennsylvania in 2018. That includes nearly 200 pounds of heroin and fentanyl, both of which are contributing to drug overdose deaths around the state and country, according to a news release.

In the last three months of 2018, troopers confiscated about $17 million worth of narcotics, including 26 pounds of heroin and nearly 50 pounds of fentanyl, police said. Just those two drugs alone have a street value of about $1.5 million.

Also seized by troopers statewide in the last few months of the year was about 224 pounds of cocaine, 507 pints of liquid marijuana, 136 pounds of methamphetamine and 470 pounds of processed marijuana, according to the release.
