The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Monday reported 328 new coronavirus cases and seven new deaths.

That brings the state’s total case count to 95,742, with 6,911 deaths.

The state considers 635 patients as probable cases, but they are not confirmed.

Monday’s state report doesn’t include new numbers for the Philadelphia region. A Health Department spokeswoman told The Morning Call that a “weekend lag” in reporting meant there were no new cases reported among the Philadelphia data and that those numbers would be updated Tuesday.

Roughly half of coronavirus cases in the state are in patients age 50 or older, with the most severe cases in patients over the age of 65, according to the Department of Health. However, a growing number of new cases are in younger age groups, particularly those ages 19 to 24, the department said.

In the past seven days a total of 135,631 coronavirus tests have been administered in Pennsylvania, with 5,560 positive results, a positive test rate of about 4.1%.

Nursing and personal care homes account for 18,279 cases among residents and 3,481 among employees. There have been 4,699 coronavirus deaths in nursing and personal care homes, about 68 of the state’s deaths. The virus has been found in 750 nursing facilities.

Health care workers account for 7,158 coronavirus cases.

There have been 835,732 negative tests for the virus statewide. Of those with the virus, 77% have recovered.
