Winter is upon us, and despite the occasional warmup, snow- and ice-related activities are out there.

Let’s say you’re in the mood to head out to a nearby Pennsylvania state park for a day of, say, cross-country skiing. How would you check on the conditions?

Well, the state has made that process a bit cleaner thanks to the State Parks Winter Report.

The feature lets winter outdoor recreation enthusiasts monitor snow and ice conditions at any particular state park.

Wanna check the snow accumulation at Laurel Hill? As of the most recent report (the page is updated weekly), there’s 4 inches of snow on the ground.

What about Moraine? Nope, the latest report has no snow or ice listed.

The report is searchable by park and by winter outdoor recreation activity.
