1 dead after shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood

A man died after apparently getting shot in the chest Monday night in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood, police said.

Officials received a report of a medical emergency in a residential area along Enright Court shortly after 6:30 p.m., Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Alicia George said.

When medics arrived, they found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his chest, George said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Zone 5 police and Major Crimes detectives are investigating.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

No further details were immediately available.

Officials asked anyone with information about the incident to call Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
