Biden calls out Trump for calling Kamala Harris 'a monster'
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is calling on President Donald Trump to cease insults on running mate Sen. Kamala Harris after Trump called her a “monster” and a “communist” on Thursday during an interview on Fox Business.
Trump made the comments to host Maria Bartiromo in reference to Harris’ performance during the vice presidential debate with Mike Pence on Wednesday night. Harris is the first woman of color chosen to join a major party ticket.
“And this monster that was onstage with Mike Pence, who destroyed her last night by the way, but this monster, she says, ‘no no, there won’t be fracking,’” Trump said. “She was terrible, she was, uh, I don’t think you could get worse, and totally unlikeable, and she is. She’s a communist. She’s left of Bernie. She’s rated left of Bernie by everyone. She’s a communist.”

Biden, who spoke at the Phoenix airport, called the president’s remarks “so beneath the office of the presidency,” and said “the American people are sick and tired of it.”
Joe Biden says Kamala Harris is “one of the finest persons I’ve ever dealt with” after President Trump called her “a monster."
“It's despicable,” Biden says of Trump’s comments. "It’s so beneath the office of the presidency, and the American people are sick and tired of it."

Harris, who is campaigning in Arizona with her running mate, declined to comment on what Trump said.
“It’s obvious he cannot — he has great difficulty dealing with strong women,” Biden added, calling the California senator “a person who is ready on Day 1 to be president of the United States of America” and “a person who has more integrity in her little finger than most people have in their entire body.”
Trump calls @KamalaHarris "this monster" in Fox interview this morning. @Swerdlick nails it on @CNN just now:
"Trump doesn't like to be challenged. He really doesn't like to be challenged by women. And he especially doesn't like to be challenged by women of color."

Watch @JimSciutto's reaction to Trump calling Kamala Harris a "monster:"
"My children sometimes watch this broadcast. I don't want them to hear that kind of language from the sitting president about a woman who is running for VP and is a sitting & elected member of the Senate." pic.twitter.com/4eJg6TjDR2

Donald Trump‘s decision to call Kamala Harris a “monster” is a depressing statement about his understanding of his base of supporters and what they want to be told about the first Black woman to be a major party’s vice presidential nominee.
