Trump, Harris barnstorm Western Pa. Here's where they have stopped
Pennsylvania is a prime battleground state in the 2024 presidential race. And Western Pennsylvania has become a must-stop campaign swing for Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.
July included major turning points in the campaigns — a gunman attempted to assassinate Trump on July 13 in Butler County, and President Joe Biden dropped out of the race on July 21. Since then, the candidates have barnstormed in the region numerous times.
Here’s a quick look at stops by both candidates, plus their vice presidential running mates — Tim Walz for Harris and JD Vance for Trump — over the past months.

• Sept. 29, Erie
Trump’s rally in Erie took on similar themes as an event one day earlier that he himself described as a “dark speech.” He told a cheering crowd Sunday that Harris was responsible for an “invasion” at the U.S.-Mexico border and “she should be impeached and prosecuted for her actions.”
• Sept. 28, North Versailles
Sen. JD Vance, the Republican pick for vice president, may have missed out on a Pittsburgh staple Saturday after he was initially turned away from the Primanti Bros. in North Versailles, but it seems there’s no hard feelings.

• Aug. 30, Johnstown
