State of the Union viewership down double digits from 2019
Ratings for President Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday took a significant drop from the year before.
The speech was down more than 20% from 2019 across the three major cable news networks and the four major broadcast networks, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Ratings data compiled by Nielsen show the address drew a total audience of 34.2 million viewers across the eight main broadcast and cable news networks, with Fox News Channel delivering the largest overall audience, 11.6 million viewers.
CBS topped the broadcast networks with 4.24 million viewers, followed by NBC with 4.05 million, Fox with 3.5 million and ABC with 3.45 million, all pending updates, according to Nielsen.

The 2019 State of the Union drew 46.79 million viewers across 12 networks, up slightly from 2018.
