A Pittsburgh man who’d attended the University of Dayton in Ohio was killed hours after graduating.

KDKA reports that Ian Brunner, 22, was working on his car on Sunday night when the jack apparently slipped, pinning him beneath the vehicle.

WPXI reports that emergency responders arrived to the student housing on Irving Avenue on the University of Dayton’s campus around 7 p.m., where they found Brunner trapped beneath a black two-door car.

WPXI also obtained audio of the 911 call, in which the caller said that Brunner was unresponsive.

Officials said that Brunner had graduated from the university hours earlier that day with a degree in mechanical engineering. The university released the following statement:

“We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to Ian’s family, friends, faculty, staff, and our entire campus community,” the statement read. “Campus ministers, the dean of students office, housing and residence life, and counseling staff are available.”
