Conditions exit for severe thunderstorms to pop up in a huge part of the state from east of Pittsburgh to Bradford through this afternoon until 4:45 p.m. , according to the National Weather Service.
Weather service meterologist Pat Will said a warning is in effect until 3 p.m.
Westmoreland, Armstrong, Butler counties are included.
The NWS said at 2:26 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Trafford, near Monroeville, moving northeast at 25 mph.
Wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter-size hail are possible. The NWS said minor hail damage to vehicles is possible.
Expect wind damage to trees and power lines, resulting in some power outages.
Possible damage is possible at Monroeville, Greensburg, Jeannette,Murrysville, North Versailles, White Oak, Irwin, Manor, Trafford, Delmont, Export and North Irwin.
Part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike is included between mile markers 59 and 67.
