Enjoy the fall season at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum
Fall fun returns to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum with our annual Magic Pumpkin Trolley and Trick or Trolley events, as well as the Terrible Trolley Tailgate and a new, sold-out ghost tour, Trolley Tales of Terror.
Magic Pumpkin Trolley, sponsored by LB Foster, runs Friday, October 10 through Sunday, October 12 and Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19.
The Terrible Trolley Tailgate is this Saturday, October 11, from 6 to 9 pm.
Trick or Trolley will take place on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26.
At all events, visitors will experience the fall season with rides on decorated trolleys as well as explore our Trolley Display Building with over 20 antique trolleys to tour and explore.
Our Magic Pumpkin Trolley event will be a truly special experience, as children will plant a “magic pumpkin seed” of our special invention. After a trolley ride through our beautiful fall scenery, their pumpkins will have magically grown to their full size! Children will also have the chance to decorate their mini pumpkin before taking them home and view the Steel City LUG Fall Lego Display.
There will also be children’s games and complimentary fall themed refreshments — add to the fall fun by dressing up in your favorite costume! The event runs from 10 am to 5 pm each day. The last trolley of the day will leave at 3:25 pm.
Admission to Magic Pumpkin Trolley is $22 per person and children 2 & under are free, but do not include a pumpkin. These are timed tickets, and advanced purchasing online is encouraged at www.patrolley.org.
Each purchase of a children’s ticket includes a pumpkin; those who would like to purchase an additional pumpkin may do so for $4. We thank our sponsor, LB Foster, for underwriting this special event.
The Terrible Trolley Tailgate will feature numerous local breweries and distilleries: Pittsburgh Brewing Company, Velum Fermentation, Eleventh Hour Brewing, Rusty Gold Brewery, Penn Brewery, and Big Spring Spirits. The event will feature a live DJ, tailgate games, trolley rides, and a visit from Steely McBeam of the Pittsburgh Steelers! Each $35 ticket includes a take-home tasting glass, 10 sample tickets, and a pom-pom. Those who buy an advance ticket receive a special gift.
During Trick or Trolley, children and families are encouraged to wear their costumes to trick or treat with local businesses and organizations stationed throughout the Museum.
Enjoy holiday games and a face painter amid the celebration of the season . The event is scheduled to run from 10 am to 4 pm each day. The last full Museum experience begins at 3:15 pm. The price of this event is included with museum admission, and tickets can be purchased on the days of the event.
In addition to these great events, we will once again offer trolley rides at the Washington County Fairgrounds during the Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts Christmas Festival. This festival will run October 17-19 & 25-26. Craft show hours are Friday 10-5, Saturdays 10-6 and Sundays 10-5. Riders can purchase tickets at the Fairgrounds trolley platform for $5 per person, children 2 and under are free. This service does not include admission to the Museum or to the events.
The Museum is currently open during our fall/winter seasonal hours, Thursday through Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Check the Museum website for information about the 2025 Santa Trolley and its online ticket sales. Tickets and more information online at www.pa-trolley.org/events.
