The Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency and Hollywood Casino at The Meadows have been recognized with a Silver Telly Award in the Branded Content: Travel & Tourism Campaign category for its creative and highly successful promotion of BeetleBar — a Beetlejuice-themed pop-up bar that opened September 19, 2024, and continued through Halloween at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens. Founded in 1979 to honor local, regional and cable television commercials, with non-broadcast video and television programming added soon after, the award has evolved with the rise of digital video to include branded content, documentary, social media, immersive and more. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens — receiving over 13,000 entries globally from six continents and all 50 states.

The BeetleBar campaign was a collaborative effort between the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency, Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, professional actor John Dohanich (who portrayed Beetlejuice), and a dynamic lineup of regional influencers including Caitlin Humienny (@cocktailswithcait), Krystal Deiuliis (@pgh.eats.with.krystal), Francesca Ferrante (@the412franimal), Nelli Tokleh (@pittsburghfoodnerd), and Tori Daquelente (@its.just.tori.).

“We are proud to be recognized with a Telly Award for a campaign that not only showcased our creativity but also delivered real results in attracting visitors to Washington County,” said Jeff Kotula, president of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Promotion Agency. “BeetleBar was a bold and engaging concept that demonstrated the power of collaboration and pop culture to drive regional tourism. The award-winning campaign leveraged immersive video content, influencer marketing, and an unforgettable in-person experience to promote the pop-up bar. With John Dohanich channeling the iconic Beetlejuice character and social content reaching tens of thousands of viewers, the campaign was both an entertainment success and a tourism driver for our casino and our county.”

“This award is a testament to the incredible synergy between our team and the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency,” said Matthew Heiskell, general manager of Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. “From concept to execution, BeetleBar was one of the most creative and impactful pop-up experiences we have hosted. We are proud to see it recognized on a national level and alongside other Silver Telly winners this round such as Disney, Hilton, Hard Rock Hotel-NYC, Macao Government Tourism Office, and Aspen One.”
