A conservative-themed coffee shop that opened last weekend in Florida features an Oval Office scene with a cutout of President Trump, televisions blaring Fox News and a “wall of honor” with veterans’ and police officers’ signatures.

Conservative Grounds, the newest business in a Largo strip mall that includes an LGBTQ bar and kava lounge, has taken over the space once occupied by a strip club, according to a Tampa Bay Times article.

Baristas wear T-shirts with the slogan “The right coffee shop for America.”

A “liberal safe space” decorated with a unicorn picture leads to the dumpsters.

Conservative Grounds’ owner, John Tatum, who previously ran for St. Petersburg City Council, told the newspaper that employees at other coffee shops “sneer” at him when he shows up wearing a MAGA hat, so he wanted to create a safe space for conservatives with his new business.

“It’s about honor,” he told the newspaper. “Police officers, law enforcement, you know, first responders, people in our military, we want to give people a place where they can feel comfortable, where they’re not asked to leave.”

He told the Times that the new shop has more than 50 investors “from all different, diverse backgrounds” but that he’s rejected other potential investors because he wasn’t sure they had the right values.
