$14.6 million lottery ticket in Arizona goes unclaimed
Better luck next time. A lottery jackpot worth $14.6 million went unclaimed in Arizona.
A winning “The Pick” ticket, which got all six numbers in the in-state game, was sold June 5 at a Circle K convenience store in Goodyear, Arizona. The ticket holder had until Monday to claim the prize as tickets expire after 180 days.
“There is nothing more exciting for Arizona Lottery than to award a large jackpot, like this $14.6 million prize, so we are always a little sad when we see one of these prizes expire unclaimed,” Gregg Edgar, executive director of the Arizona Lottery, said in a statement, according to a report by CNN.
Last week, before the deadline, the Arizona Lottery posted a tweet with the caption, “What would you do first if you were sitting on that winning ticket for the past 180 days?”

Alas, no one turned it in.
Now, the money goes back to state, which will use it for various programs, as well as fund prizes for new games.
