Sometimes funny accidents show up at the most inopportune times.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in British Columbia were live streaming on Facebook with an update and public appeal for help about a double homicide from earlier in the week, Vancouver’s online newspaper The Daily Hive reports.

The only problem? Someone forgot to turn off the cat filter.

RCMP Sgt. Janelle Shoihet’s rather sobering comments were completely overshadowed by her … cat ears.

Luckily, the department quickly realized what was going on, saying they were “addressing it as it’s an automatic setting.”

The RCMP published an updated — and de-catified — video on its Facebook page.
