A rogue traffic sign damaged several cars before landing in the back of a sports car along Interstate 95 in Florida.

The yellow road sign somehow left its position Tuesday afternoon alongside an onramp at Hallandale Beach and became road debris that some drivers could not avoid, reports 7 News WSVN.

The sign, still attached to its steel post, reportedly got knocked around by a few cars before going airborne and crashing through the rear window of a Chevrolet Corvette.

“I didn’t even see it. It just happened really fast,” the owner of the car, identified only as Malcolm, told WSVN.

“It’s scary. I thought somebody smashed into me. I didn’t know it was a sign until I pulled over and got out of the car,” Malcolm, who was headed to the gym, told the news station.

He helped police remove the sign from the back of the damaged car.

“It was a beautiful car,” he told WSVN.

According to WSVN, four or five vehicles were damaged in the incident, including an SUV with airbag deployment.

The woman driving the SUV was so severely startled she was taken to a hospital.

“Just nerves, like shaking,” the woman’s husband, Juan Montoya, told WSVN. “She was so scared, you know? It was a big hit.”

No serious injuries were reported.
