In this photo provided by Colombia’s Navy press office, castaway Elvis Francois is attended by Colombian Navy members after he was rescued near the department of La Guajira, in the extreme north of Colombia, as he sits on board the merchant ship CMA CGM Voltario at the port of Cartagena, Colombia, Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

Heinz has found the sailor who survived at sea for 24 days by eating ketchup, garlic powder and seasoning cubes.

Elvis Francois, 47, of Dominica was adrift on his sailboat in the Caribbean after getting swept out to sea while making repairs to his boat. He survived by collecting rainwater and subsisting on condiments. He was rescued last month, according to the Associated Press.

After signaling a plane with a mirror, he was picked up by a passing container ship and brought to Colombia and eventually made it back to his home.

After hearing about his ordeal, Heinz posted to social media that they wanted to contact Francois, posting, “We need your help tracking down an amazing man with an amazing story.” They said in the post that they wanted to buy him a new boat.
