Have you been making more typing errors than usual on your iPhone?

Turns out, it might not just be you. There’s a new bug in iOS that’s causing frustration among iPhone users, according to PC Guide.

Many users have been complaining on the iOS subreddit about typing problems after updating to iOS 26 and discovered numerous people have been experiencing the same issues.

Some of the issues that users noticed include:

Making “dumb” typos Spacebar sometimes doesn’t register Typing feels less accurate Typing feels “jerky,” especially when typing longer messages Keyboard sometimes lags or freezes Letters are showing up delayed Letters being repeated that weren’t initially typed GOOD TO KNOW. I was thinking there’s no way I suck at typing all of a sudden. Hopefully Apple fixes this soon. https://t.co/z1LKDQeyF3

In this video posted to X, the user is seen typing the word “thumbs up,” which results in a range of misspellings, the Mac Observer reported.

For example, pressing “U” highlights the correct key, yet the system enters “J.” In another instance, pressing “U” produces “H.” Similarly, hitting “M” results in “N” appearing instead.

Reports have confirmed that it’s a software issue affecting Apple’s keyboard, PC Guide said.

As of now, Apple hasn’t addressed the problem, and there is no official fix. PC Guide said based on past issues, it’s likely Apple will address it in a future iOS update once the bug receives more attention.

Some fixes in the meantime include restarting iPhone, turning off Predictive Text, resetting the keyboard dictionary or switching to a third-party keyboard, according to PC Guide.
