A 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged with robbing a customer at gunpoint in the men’s room of a Wawa store in Atlantic County, N.J., authorities said.

Police were called about 11:40 a.m. to the convenience store in the 500 block of West Delilah Road in Pleasantville on a report of an armed robbery.

“Several calls were received regarding a male having been threatened with a gun or mugged in the men’s bathroom,” police Capt. Matthew Hartman said in an email.

The victim told police the man robbed him at gunpoint of several hundred dollars cash while he was in the store’s bathroom, Hartman said.

Officers reviewed store security videos and gave a description of the suspect and his vehicle to police departments across the region, Hartman said.

Hours later, two police officers saw a vehicle matching the earlier description and pulled over the suspect about 2:19 p.m. in the 900 block of North Carolina Avenue in Atlantic City, Hartman said.

Vance Golden, 27, of Atlantic City was charged with robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm, making terroristic threats, weapons charges, theft and drug charges. Two women who were with Golden also face drug charges, police said.
