Last month, President Biden announced a complete withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, ending the longest war in American history. It’s a decision that’s raised concerns for terrorism experts like Colin P. Clarke, director of Policy and Research for the Soufan Group, a global intelligence and security consultancy.

Clarke, a Mt. Lebanon resident, taught at Carnegie Mellon University and was a senior political scientist at the RAND Corp., where he spent a decade researching terrorism, insurgency and criminal networks.

Clarke has said that while al-Qaida is degraded, it has not been defeated and remains, along with ISIS, the greatest terrorist threat to the United States. Clarke discusses in this video interview how he thinks the Biden administration should handle the situation, and how concerned we should be about 9/11-style attacks being launched against the United States in the future.
