RAGÚ pasta sauce recalled due to possible plastic contaminants
Five varieties of RAGÚ pasta sauce have been recalled because they may contain pieces of plastic.
Mizkan America, Inc., announced the voluntary recall Saturday and asks consumers to check their refrigerator and pantry for the jars affected by the recall.
Any recalled sauce should be thrown away.
Consumers should look for the “cap code” on the yellow jar cap as well as the “best use by” dates listed below:
• RAGÚ Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 45 oz., with a cap code of JUN0620YU2 and best use by date of JUN0620YU2
• RAGÚ Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz., with a cap code of JUN0520YU2 and best use by date of JUN0520YU2
• RAGÚ Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66 oz., with a cap code of JUN0620YU2 and best use by date of JUN0620YU2
• RAGÚ Old World Style Traditional, 66 oz., with a cap code of JUN0420YU2 and best use by date of JUN0420YU2
• RAGÚ Old World Style Meat, 66 oz., with a cap code of JUN0520YU2 and a best use by date of JUN0520YU2.
The products were produced between June 4 and June 8 and distributed nationwide.
Consumers who have purchased the affected sauces should call the Mizkan American customer-service hotline at 800-328-7248 to receive a replacement.
