A car prowler suspect appears quite surprised to see a camera light up as it began recording his activity.

Police in Beaverton, Ore., have a solid lead on who might be responsible for rummaging through cars in an apartment parking lot, reports KOIN 6 News.

A woman found her car doors hanging wide open Friday morning, and her automatic dash cam had recorded some evidence.

“It starts recording without any light but, after 10 seconds, the light comes on and he was startled — him and his friends,” the car’s owner told KOIN.

The light may have scared off the potential thieves because the woman told KOIN nothing was stolen from her car.

She described her Owlcam dashcam as “worth every penny.”

Beaverton police told KOIN that there have been several reports of car break-ins in the area.
