A man whose dream it was to climb the tallest mountain on each continent completed his goal — and died shortly after.

The New York Times reported Donald Cash, a married 54-year-old father of four from Utah who quit his job as a software salesman in December to fulfill his climbing goal, fainted and could not be revived Wednesday after reaching the summit of Mount Everest, the last mountain on his list.

Cash’s children believe he suffered a heart attack, the Times reported.

Guides with Pioneer Adventures said Cash fainted from high-altitude sickness.

He was one of two people to die on that mountain that day.

Anjali Kulkarni, 54, collapsed while returning from the summit with her husband, according to Arun Treks and Expedition.

At 29,029 feet, Mount Everest is the world’s tallest mountain.

It’s estimated that 600 people attempt to scale Everest each year, but less than half of them make it.

Nepal’s government says there are about 200 bodies still on the mountain.
