SEATTLE — More than 64,000 customers were without power Tuesday morning in Washington state as strong winds and rain blew through the Northwest.
The Seattle Times reports the number of customers without power throughout Washington fluctuated Tuesday afternoon because of multiple large outages.
As of 5:15 p.m., 12,024 outages were reported with 167 customers in King County, 118 customers in Pierce County, 56 customers in Snohomish County and 37 customers in Whatcom County without power.

High-wind advisories were issued for the Seattle metro area, areas along the Washington coast and the Cascade Mountains.
Authorities were also searching for a kayaker after finding a kayak Tuesday off Jetty Island near Everett. In Seattle, a downed utility pole near East Madison Street and 29th Avenue East blocked all lanes in both directions around 3 p.m., according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The pole toppled onto a passing truck and a nearby building. No injuries were reported, Seattle Fire Department spokesperson David Cuerpo told The Seattle Times.
Additionally, winter storm warnings were issued for the Cascade and Olympic mountains above 3,500 feet.

The weather service around noon temporarily issued two tornado warnings west of Seattle in Kitsap County. At about 12:20 p.m. the weather service canceled the tornado warnings.
At about 5 p.m. the weather service said showers, some heavy at times, would taper overnight into Wednesday.
