A woman in southern England claims the sound of wind chimes is so painful that she is confined to her bedroom.

Chrissie Bradby, 56, of Poole, Dorset, has a neuromuscular disease called dystonia which makes her muscles uncontrollably contract and trigger pain, reports Metro.co.uk. She says high-pitched noises trigger the condition and it only takes something as subtle as her neighbor’s wind chimes to leave her “screaming in pain.”

Bradby tells Metro.co.uk the chimes have left her a prisoner in her own home because her upstairs bedroom is the only place she can escape the noise.

“They’re actually nine feet from my dining room window,” she told Metro.co.uk.

“I’ve had to triple the medication I take and I also have to use alcohol to help me relax,” Bradby told Metro.co.uk. “Otherwise I’m just a ball of tension and pain. My doctor has given me a letter to show to the police.”

Bradby claims the property owner, Quay Living, has accused her of being anti-social and will not move the wind chimes. Metro.co.uk reports.

Authorities investigated and found no significant noise from the wind chimes, even in high winds, and will not be taking any action, reports Metro.co.uk.
