A Florida woman found a startling way to free herself from under a squatting camel at a truck stop in Louisiana.
Authorities said a man had been tossing dog treats into a pen containing a camel at the Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete last week, reports The Advocate. The dog ended up inside the camel’s enclosure and the couple crawled under the fence to retrieve it.
The 600-pound camel, a male dromedary named Caspar, reportedly sat on the woman and pinned her to the ground, according to The Advocate. She freed herself from the weighty situation by biting the camel.
“She said, ‘I bit his balls to get him off of me, I bit his testicles to get him off of me,’” Iberville Parish Deputy Louis Hamilton Jr. told The Advocate.

Authorities said the couple had provoked the camel before it sat on the woman. “The camel did nothing wrong,” Hamilton told The Advocate. “They (the couple) were aggressive. The camel was just doing its normal routine.”
The truck stop keeps the camel in an enclosure with signs every 10 feet along the fence warning visitors to stay out, according to The Advocate. The couple stopped at the truck stop to let their dog out.
The couple was cited for a leash law violation and criminal trespassing.
“My only question to her husband was: ‘Why did you throw the doggy treat under the fence?’ Hamilton told The Advocate. “And he just said, ‘I wasn’t thinking.’”
