Woman shoots at Burger King employees over drive-thru wait-time, police say
A woman in a Memphis Burger King drive-thru line no longer wanted to wait for her food, so she took matters into her own hands.
Fox 13 Memphis reported that on Tuesday, Memphis Police said a woman exited her car at a Burger King on Winchester Road, walked up to the drive-thru window and began arguing with an employee.
A Burger King surveillance video showed “the woman pull out a black handgun from her car, lean into the drive-thru window and open fire,” the report said.
Police said the employees “took off running through a backdoor,” and fortunately none were hit.
The report noted that Memphis Police are asking anyone who can identify this woman or who knows anything about this crime, to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-2274 (CASH).
FOX13 cited a statement they obtained from Burger King which read: “We do not tolerate or condone violence of any kind at our restaurants because the safety of our team members and guests is our top priority. Fortunately, no one in the restaurant was injured during this incident. The restaurant operator is fully cooperating with authorities on their ongoing investigation.”
According to the report, any information that leads to the shooter’s arrest could be worth up to $1,000.
