A woman wrecked her car in Cairo, N.Y., after spotting a spider inside the vehicle, April 10, 2019.

A driver in New York was so surprised to discover an arachnid passenger that she lost control of her car.

The woman reportedly spotted a spider inside her car and panicked prior to driving off the road toward a stone wall.

According to a Facebook post by the Town of Cairo New York Police Department, the driver suffered an injured leg in crash along Silver Spur Road.

“It is believed that the operator of the vehicle noticed a SPIDER in the drivers area with her as she was driving,” police stated.

The police decided the spider fright was common enough to warn the public.

“We feel it necessary to bring up a contributing factor that is not covered too often,” they stated.

“We know that it is easier for some drivers than others but PLEASE, try to teach new drivers and yourselves to overcome the fear and pull over to a safe place,” Cairo police continued.

”Lives depend on it.”
