Letter to the editor: A different perspective on 'facts'
Regarding the letter “Republicans continue to deny facts” (Sept. 2, TribLIVE): As a Republican, if you add these prefixes to Joanne Garing’s “facts” — Fakebook, Goggle, MSDNC, CNN, among others — denying “those” facts I can assure you, I don’t believe any of them.
I am desperate to resolve how man-made climate change resulted in the Tohoku subduction generating a 2011 tsunami, wiping out three nuclear power plants, killing thousands and moving Japan’s main island 8 feet. Those “man-made” dudes that did that, I gotta meet them! Shoutout to Mike Tomlin: Waive the entire offensive line and sign these guys!
Apparently man-made Earth changes are not limited to terra firma. On Labor Day, while driving Jack’s Hill on Route 30, I had to swerve to dodge a piece of the sky that fell. Maybe Chicken Little was right.
As to “mask savings”: Indeed; I watched a hoard of mask-clad people “saving” a lot of money in Chicago’s Miracle Mile Shopping District, and in Portland, Ore., masked people (not to be outdone) shielded by cloth took over whole areas of the city renaming it an autonomous zone. Truth to the Power of the Mask.
I posit to the letter-writer: Witness the destruction of people and democracy? You need look no further than the water canal filled with people adjacent Hamid Karzai International Airport courtesy of the actions of President Biden.
