I am concerned that our legislators and most notably our Gov. Tom Wolf have lost sight of the need for proper insight into the sanctity of life. How in God’s name can they say that the death penalty is inhumane but the butchering of the unborn is OK (“Death penalty repeal movement surfaces in Pa. Legislature,” May 31, TribLIVE)?

In order to be consistent, both must be treated the same. I do not agree with the governor’s stand on abortion. To not make a murderer pay for his or her crime is not consistent with the historic and religious history of civilized society. To make legal the killing of innocent unborn babies is not only disgusting, but is no better than those who sacrificed babies and children to idols in ancient times.

The crime of murder in the first degree is against all that our maker has stated in his word, and the price should be paid with the life of the convicted.

Unborn babies are promised, under our Declaration of Independence, to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. My question to those in the Legislature and to Wolf is, which god do you serve? The God of life or the god of death?
