In the USA, we are civilized.
Leave your dog outside in inclement weather, and you could have it taken away, be fined and possibly face jail time. Animal cruelty is against the law. It is uncivilized.
Physically or mentally abuse your child, and you could have your child taken away, be fined and possibly face jail time. Child abuse is against the law. It is uncivilized.
Convicted criminals on death row cannot be hung, electrocuted or given lethal drugs that cause pain and suffering when administered. It is cruel and unusual punishment. It is uncivilized.
A woman has the right to have her unborn child extracted from her womb, possibly dismembered and disposed of. If the baby is alive, it is placed in a “comfort room” to die, then disposed of. It is not against the law. It is civilized. In the USA, we are civilized.
