It is my opinion that the No. 1 issue in this year’s election — other than skyrocketing inflation or millions of immigrants being welcomed with open arms into our country or President Biden signing an executive order that allows the government to spy on Americans to assess “political instability” — is what is being labeled “women’s health care,” known to the majority of Americans as abortion and to the pro-life movement as infanticide.

As a God-fearing mother and grandmother, I am fearful for what is happening to America. America, a nation steeped in deep moral convictions, sadly no more. A nation that believed God’s word was truth to now believing that truth is in the eye of the beholder. Princeton University “ethicist” Peter Singer, in his 1979 book “Practical Ethics,” wrote that “killing a defective infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person. Sometimes it is not wrong at all” — perhaps proposing that parents should be allowed to kill children after birth, especially if they are born with a disability such as Down syndrome.

We should heed the words of Isaiah the prophet — “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter” — and Paul — “Do not be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a person soweth, that shall they also reap.”

It is harrowing that all those who are insanely pushing for total abortion rights have already been born.

Heavenly Father, why, oh why, are your priests and preachers in the pulpits so silent?
