As a recent victim of one more of Adelphoi’s escapees, I think it’s time for the citizens of this county to demand Adelphoi take responsibility for allowing so many of their detainees to “escape” and cost the taxpayers both time and money.

Does Adelphoi pay property taxes? We do. Our local and state police are already overworked, and probably underpaid, and now are expected to become babysitters for these wayward youths. I realize that many of Adelphoi’s residents are good people, some being placed there because of untenable home situations, but we are seeing more and more criminal young people, and I am tired of paying my taxes and being subjected to this crime wave.

My car was broken into, and now I need estimates, deductibles, a rental car, etc., just to get my life back. I also have been advised to purchase a security camera, motion lights and a car alarm.

Adelphoi needs to be financially responsible for their youth, as they are being paid to do their job. Any lawyers out there willing to take on this behemoth?
