It appears that, for many years, industry has bypassed the Kiski Valley area. About a year ago, I heard about steel manufacturing via new arc furnaces coming to the Little Rock, Ark., area, providing hundreds of new jobs.

There seems to be no advocates for our area. The Kiski Valley Chamber of Commerce will fill that requirement by creating advocacy programs for business and government relations.

There are basically two types of Chamber of Commerce organizations: the three Ps — parties, pageants and parades, and the three Cs — catalyst, convener and champions. The Kiski chamber will be dedicated to the 3 Cs, will have enthusiasm and will advocate for our citizens and business community. We will maintain a government relations program that is receptive to policies that enhance business and industry for our area.

Indeed, we are a new chamber of commerce, but, together, we will move our area forward with growth.
