The Pittsburgh Pirates finally did something right, and long overdue.

Recently, they announced their 2025 Hall of Fame class. At long last, they chose to induct Pirates legend and baseball superstar Al Oliver, a great player and even better person.

Oliver was someone who always put the team first, unselfishly switching positions in the field when asked, often on a day-to-day basis. He was an incredible hitter, one of the all-time best, doing things to a baseball I’ve never seen anyone else do. An altogether humble, decent person who is currently a motivational speaker and minister. I am proud to call him a friend.

Congratulations, Al, you absolutely deserve this, and the next stop will be Cooperstown.
