I was surprised to learn that, according to polls, the majority of Pennsylvania voters support Gov. Tom Wolf’s continued draconian measures during this unprecedented time. Perhaps they had just received their stimulus, unemployment or supplemental checks and were feeling generous. We must remember this supply of money is temporary and unsustainable.

We were frightened into submission by data we now know was flawed. Admittedly, hindsight is 20/20. But Wolf and Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine seem to be slow to consider new data in order to reopen our state. If the state doesn’t open most businesses soon, what kind of financial disaster will be left to our children and grandchildren?

Now we must wear masks to enter stores. If wearing masks and social distancing keep us safe, why aren’t most businesses open? I wonder why a mask was not needed April 19 but was mandated April 20.

It is very alarming how readily Pennsylvanians surrendered their First Amendment rights. It is just as alarming how those who ask questions are vilified.
