Letter to the editor: All the king's men

Tribune-Review

President Trump: Paid $750 in federal taxes in 2016 and 2017 and zero in past years. There’s either something seriously wrong with the U.S. tax code or some big-time corruption happened. We’ll see.

William Barr: The attorney general is supposed to be the people’s attorney general and not the president’s “fixer,” helping the president’s friends and attacking his perceived enemies. He should be disbarred.

Mike Pompeo: When the inspector general of the State Department got too close to pompous Pompeo’s shenanigans, Pompeo went to Trump and had him fired. Trump probably didn’t even ask what the problem was. Mafia-style loyalty. He should be disbarred.

Rudy Giuliani: Chief promoter, after Trump, of the big lie. He lied repeatedly to Pennsylvania judges. He should be disbarred.

Clenched-fist Josh Hawley and Cancun Ted Cruz: The senators promoted the big lie even after the insurrection during the Electoral College count.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis: The guardian angel of the new Florida Mar-a-Lago resident. We’ll see.

Wilbur Ross and Steven Mnuchin: Grift. Nothing more needs said.

Mike Pence: I guess in his daily conversations with God, God told him to hang in there because some day he will be president. At the recent CPAC, poor Mike was a no-show and got less than 1% of attendees’ vote for 2024.

Honorable mention in Trump’s Hall of Corruption: Cabinet members Betsy DeVos, Elaine Chao, Alex Acosta, Tom Price, Scott Pruitt, David Shulkin, Ryan Zinke. All the king’s lies and all the king’s men couldn’t keep their king in the White House again.
